Some women saw Pin Up girls as slander and defamation of the female character both to older and younger women. Others saw it as a way to redefine the modern female, no longer did they have to wear long, heavy dresses made of expensive fabrics like they did in the Victorian era. Now, they could wear dresses made of a thinner material with high heels and their hair could be pinned up just the way that they liked it. In my persnal opinion, pin up girls were a way for the modern woman to express her sexuality. No longer did she have to be defined by a man's standards, she could be as promiscuous or modest as she wanted and didn't have to answer to anyone.
A popular show that was once in production was Desperate Housewives. It told the tale of the dark side of cul-de-sac , the secrets that no one wanted any of their neighbors to know. I am, personally, a very huge fan of the show, though it's not being produced now, and I love how they bring a razor blade edge to things like suburban life.
